EarthLink provides dial-up internet, DSL, cable internet, satellite internet, and fiber optic internet– almost every type of internet service available anywhere. EarthLink was founded in 1994 as a network and communications provider, and it currently handles IT services, IT security, cloud computing, virtualization, hosted applications, and other computer support services, as well as residential internet service. It has two divisions: EarthLink Business and EarthLink consumer.
EarthLink’s chief advantage is its ability to provide several different platforms for business or home internet service. Whatever type of internet connection you’re seeking, chances are that EarthLink has it. EarthLink service also is usually lower in price than competing services.
The disadvantage with EarthLink is that its most commonly available service, DSL, is considerably slower than cable, fiber, or satellite internet.
